Where to Eat in Houston, Texas?

Where to Eat in Houston, Texas?

Are you wondering where to eat the next time you’re in Houston? Well, I have a few places for you to try out if you need a lil help. Houston offers a wide variety of food that caters to everyone. We went from southern cuisine to Japenese flare to American. Each restaurant had their own flavor and I enjoyed every meal. It was hard for me to pick. Since I did go to Houston for AfroTech, my time was limited and couldn’t hit everything on my list. Read more below and watch my TikTok to get an idea for your next Houston trip!

Hudson House has several locations in Texas and California with a wide variety of American food. Make reservations!

Thirteen is Black-owned (James Harden, NBA L.A. Clippers) and caters to traditional flavors with a Japanese flare, elevated fine dining. They have a live DJ, hookah, and innovative libations. They also offer a one-of-a-kind Night Club better known as "The Basement" with spacious sections and a private area with a two lane bowling alley and private bar. Make reservations since this is a popular location.

Doves is a Southern cuisine with an Asian twist and it is Black-owned. They had the best grits out of everywhere I have tried. Brunch and dinner is popular here. It is best to make reservations. Pictured: Bananas Foster Pancakes, Oxtail Hash, Grits, Chicken Wings

The Davis Street Restaurant is Southern hospitality mixed with fine dining and drinks. This is also Black-owned. I had the opportunity to try their ‘A Taste of Autumn’ Prix-Fixe Menu which didn’t disappoint. Imagine paying one price for a 4-course meal. This doesn’t happen often. Make reservations!

Bun B, rapper, is the Chief Burger Officer and CEO of Trill Burgers. As a fan of Bun B, I was excited to try his chain especially since he started this during the pandemic and known for his Trill sauce and his beef patties. Pictured: OG Burger, Trill Cola
