Check Out These Black- Owned Eateries In Las Vegas
I decided to switch it up this time on my adventure to Las Vegas. I was tired of casinos, partying, and clubbing. I felt that it was important to support Black owned businesses because we need to support our own. Entrepreneurship is thriving in the Black community and if we don’t celebrate each other, then who will? Check out some of the places that I went to while I was in Vegas!
Gritz Cafe
Check out Gritz Cafe for brunch! This Southern-style cafe opened in Las Vegas in 2008. You can fill up on breakfast favorites such as sweet potato waffles, grit bowls, and even fish and waffles. They are open from 7am-3pm. Check the website out below to see their menu.
Philly Freeze-Me
Vegan friendly and dairy-, gluten- and cholesterol-free, Philly Freeze-Me serves in sizes from small to “X-large” and scoops can be mixed-up to create new flavor combinations. They also put alcohol in the icees if you choose certain flavors. Already on the early Philadelphia-inspired menu, Chestnut Street Cherry, Cecil B. Moore Ave Candy, Frankford Ave Fruit Punch, Snyder Ave Strawberry Lemonade, and Berks Street Banana. Of course, Tasker Street, Passyunk Avenue, Wissahickon Avenue, and Broad Street all get shout outs as well. I got the Ciroc Pineapple and it was amazing!
TC’s BBQ Crib
This southern New Orleans style restaurant was so good. In addition to fried fish, you can find ribs that fall off the bone and all of the traditional southern sides. Also, they have lunch specials that you don’t want to miss out on. Don’t forget to order their banana pudding. You won’t regret it.
FRY DAYZ FISH & WINGS
Fry Dayz Fish and Wings is located across the parking lot from Philly Freeze-Me. That’s how I discovered this location after I ordered my italian icees. Just to name a few, chicken and shrimp baskets and fried fish combinations are some items on their menu.
