Black Restaurant Week - Harlem Eateries

Black Restaurant Week - Harlem Eateries

Black Restaurant Week NYC was from November 11 to November 22. To achieve its mission of growth in the culinary industry, Black Restaurant Week aims to create experiences that will cater to a diverse culture of tastemakers, professionals and area foodies looking for exposure to delicious food and exquisite wines. Using a combination model of awareness and education events, Black Restaurant Week stimulates growth of African American owned culinary businesses across the country.

Last week, I hit up Sylvia’s Restaurant and Harlem Shake which are both in Harlem. Check below to see where else you can wine and dine at in Harlem. Also, my friend Genesis has a coquito business called “Coquito By Gen.” Even though she was not a part of Black Restaurant Week, I thought it was important to highlight her Black-owned business as well. Click here to find out where Black Restaurant Week is headed to next!

Amy Ruth’s

Amy Ruth’s is known for their southern favorites such as fried chicken and waffles, smothered turkey wings, baked macaroni and cheese, and candied yams. A popular stop for dining in and takeout, the restaurant is a favorite of Michelle Obama, Nate Robinson and singer Monica, who each have dishes named after them.
