Sherrell Obajii is one of my dear college friends and her mom has a new book coming out called “For the Strength of Harlem.” I thought it was important to share this news with you all as we continue to support our community. Not only do I have a love for Harlem, but the rich history of it always seems to amaze me when I read about it. Please see her information below and please support!

So happy to share my book cover reveal with everyone!!!!

 For the Strength of Harlem is a book about Mr. Pleas (pronounced Plez) Tusant Pearson, the man in the middle of the historical photo with Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali, taken in 1963; he was a Community Activist and Entrepreneur. This photo appears in museums, books/publications, movie documentaries, and it was necessary to tell his story.

My name is Janell Pearson, and I am the daughter of Mr. Pearson and I felt it was important to have his name and accomplishments acknowledged. The book title is “For the Strength of Harlem,” based on a biography, autobiography, memoir genre. You will be incredibly surprised by his accomplishments and the changes he was acknowledged for in Harlem. Pleas contribution is still relevant today, along with the Civil Rights Movement and the Black Lives Matter Movement.
