How To Spend A Day At QCNY Spa - Governor's Island
They always say, self-care is the best care!
QC NY was truly an experience. QCNY and Governor’s Island has been on my bucketlist for quite some time now. This was the perfect day trip to venture within New York City, but also feel like you’re somewhere different, if that makes sense.
In July, as one of my birthday outings, I decided to take off during the week and head here. I always say going to the spa during the week is much better due to crowd and if the spa is popular, then that gives you even more of a reason to do this during the week.
How Much Does It Cost?
This spa is opened 365 days a year. QC NY starts off at $90 during the week and $116 on the weekends , which includes access to the entire spa, all amenities for the whole day and a roundtrip ferry ticket. Food, drink and massage services are extra—massages will range from $100-$250. It depends on what day you go and what massage you choose.
Guests can choose to add on 25-, 50-, or 75-minute massage sessions to their spa day and can customize them with a choice of music, technique and aromas.
This spa doesn’t highlight birthday promotions on their website, but if you’re birthday is within 7 days if going then, you get in for free if you bring a paid companion. I saw it on someone’s IG and it prompted me to check it out.
Amenties
If you want to experience everything QC NY Spa has to offer, the all-day package is the way to go. There are so many amenities that cater to everyone. Aside from the pools, there are sauna rooms, Vichy showers, relaxation rooms, foot baths and steam baths—you name it, they have it. Meals are not included in these prices. Prices vary it depending on what you purchase.
The locker room also had showers, a separate bathroom, dressing areas and even a lotion station. Within each of our lockers there was a tote bag filled with a robe, jelly sandals and a towel. You can change into your swimsuit out in the open, but if you prefer more privacy, there’s a dressing corner that's partitioned off from the rest of the space (and the bathroom has closed stalls as well). There is enough space for everyone to move comfortably.
How to Get There
The spa does include your ferry ticket to Governor’s Island as well. They’re are a few ways to catch the ferry to GI. I got on the ferry from South Street. Ferries leave daily from the Battery Maritime Building at 10 South Street. To get to 10 South Street, take the subway to South Ferry (1 Train), Bowling Green (4 and 5 Train), or Whitehall Street (R Train). You can also arrive on buses M9, M15, M20, or M55.
