Restaurant Week in NYC 2023

Restaurant Week in NYC 2023

Back in January, I had a chance to check out NYC Restaurant Week, but I am a tad bit late in sending this. Life has been lifing. I was able to check out a few restaurants between Manhattan and Brooklyn. Lagos TSQ, Jasmine's Caribbean Cuisine and BLVD Bistro are all Black-owned businesses. I enjoyed all my meals at each location. I go into detail about each restaurant below!

BLVD Bistro

If you’re looking for good vibes along with music and food, BLVD Bistro is the place to go in Harlem. Their brunches are always lit and loud. You can hear the DJ from outside. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. I definitely enjoyed my soul food and would go back!

Santo Bruklin

Santo Bruklin is located in the neighborhood of Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. From the warm welcome into their cozy bar entrance through the shielded and spacious backyard as you walk down the steps. Their restaurant is Brazilian influenced. I got the Moqueca, which is a Brazilian seafood stew. Moqueca is typically made with shrimp or fish as a base with tomatoes, onions, garlic, lime and coriander. The name moqueca comes from the term mu'keka in Kimbundu language. I highly recommend. You’re encouraged to make reservations as well.

Jasmine's Caribbean Cuisine

Jasmine's Caribbean Cuisine is located in the Times Square area on West 46th Street. This is the perfect location if you’re in the area to see a broadway show or doing some shopping. They specialize in cuisines hailing from Dominica, Antigua, St. Thomas, Trinidad, and Jamaica. I’ve gotten a little bit of everything from here. It’s really good and would highly recommend. Make sure you book reservations in advance!

Lagos TSQ

Lagos TSQ is restaurant and lounge in Times Square, with a West-African fusion experience. This is also another great spot if you’re planning a broadway night out and looking for somewhere to eat. They have karaoke night once in awhile as well. The DJ is always good and the food is amazing. They cater to everyone’s palette. You should check the dress code for their lounge as well. It depends on what they have going on at night.
