Black-Owned Restaurants In Long Island

Black-Owned Restaurants In Long Island

I grew up in the suburbs, but with a city girl heart. Shout out to Long Island! When people ask me where to eat in L.I., I give a blank look. lol The reason why is I am never in L.I. and my experiences of being in NYC has helped me venture during my journey. With that being said, I did take the opportunity to review some Black-owned businesses in Long Island. Please read more below on my review.

Babylon Fish and Clam is one of my favorie seafood places in Long Island and to make it even better, it’s Black-owned. Located in Babylon, near the water. You can dine inside or outside on their patio. Their menu consists of a large selection of seafood, steaks, pastas and many other choices. Frantz is the owner and he’s the sweetest!

Located in Medford, serving authentic southern comfort favorites that's prepared fresh daily. The menu features Lola's southern fried chicken, Premium mac & cheese, collard greens, our famous chicken-n-waffles, and smokey pulled pork. In addition to our regular offerings, Lola's  has daily specials which includes smothered turkey wings and stewed oxtails. We serve an array assortment of sweet treats including peach cobbler, banana pudding and 7 different cake flavors. I bought the whole menu and everything was amazing!

Located in the heart of Lynbrook, by the Long Island Rail Road.  Prime 39 reminds me of a Manhattan Eclectic Vibe. While Prime Cut Steaks are at the center of their menu, you can also find dishes under their Chef’s Creations, including Seafood and Vegan Entrees. They also have a bar with TV’s hung on the walls. My meal was OK, but I may go back and try something else.
