How To Get to Antelope Canyon & Horseshoe Bend
Summer 2019 was 🔥🔥
Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend was calling my name! My cousin Jordan and I decided to take a trip since we don’t get a chance to see each other often due to us living in different states. It was a celebration of making it to another summer and crossing destinations off the bucketlist. ✅
How did we get there?
We flew to Las Vegas because Page, Arizona is very hard to get to. I use the ‘Viator’ app to book my day trips when I visit different cities. I trust them and the service is good. I found a deal that picked us up from the hotel on the Las Vegas strip and drove us to both of these places. Not only was I excited to NOT rent a car, but I was able to catch the views from the comfort of my bus seat and snooze. This tour is a 15 hour day trip. It takes 4 hours from Las Vegas to get to the Horshoe Bend and then 20 minutes to get to Antelope Canyon.
Horsehoe Bend
The first stop was Horseshoe Bend. We took a bathroom break at the Utah and Arizona State line. Of course, I took a picture because I wasn’t sure when I would have the opportunity to do this again. Once we got to our destination, we still had to hike to the bend up a hill. It was about a good 20 minute walk. Please make sure you wear sneakers for this trail and bring water. The best time to go is early in the morning, but we went mid-afternoon since we were on a tour. Yes, the sun was blazing hot, but this is why they stress bringing water with you. The view was amazing once we got to the top. There were a lot of people there taking photos and just taking it all in.
Antelope Canyon (Lower Antelope)
Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon in the American Southwest. It is on Navajo land east of Page, Arizona. Antelope Canyon includes two separate, scenic slot canyon sections, referred to individually as "Upper Antelope Canyon" or "The Crack"; and "Lower Antelope Canyon" or "The Corkscrew.” We visited the lower antelope. Either one has awesome views and you feel a cool breeze once you enter the canyon. Our tour guides were Navajo Indians. Once we got to our destination, the tour guides drove us to the canyons. That drive was about 15 minutes. The canyon was beautiful! So many moments for a picture and I was speechless. My desktop wallpaper photo came true and I was speechless. Again, the views were amazing and our tour guide did a really good job explaining what life was like there.
There are several ways of getting to these destinations, but I feel like traveling to Las Vegas and then taking a tour is a lot easier. The airport in Page doesn’t have a lot of flights that come in and out and you still have to drive to get to the locations. I would recommend a bus tour to make life easier.
