Quarantine Birthday Edition: Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 5
#Leoseason was in full effect this year! I love celebrating life! Honestly, we need that more than ever right now, at this very moment. This year has been different, to say the least.
Our trip to Barbados for Cropover Carnival was canceled because of COVID. It has been rescheduled for next year, but we will see what happens. 🤞🏾
We thought it would be a good idea to get a SMALL group of friends together and do a mini picnic at Brooklyn Bridge Park, pier 5. I tried to think of the safest way possible without having people uncomfortable. At the end of the day, we are all trying to make the best out of this summer. A mini reunion was much needed with good vibes.
Pier 5 is dedicated to active recreation and features playing fields for soccer, lacrosse, rugby, flag football and Frisbee. Players and spectators can watch the games from the bleachers and benches situated along the sidelines. You can plan a picnic on their 30-foot wide promenade for a meal with views of lower Manhattan, Governors Island, and New York Harbor. It was a sight to see!
A special shout of to everyone who decided to come outside of their homes for some much needed music, a dance or two, drinks, food, and fresh air. lol I truly appreciate you all. Also, I want to highlight some Black-owned businesses. A special thanks to CakeBoi for my cupcakes, Trenton for my beautiful pictures, and my best friend, Colleen for being an amazing host and decorator!
